Synopsis

‘Just Like Molly’ was born as a Grade 4 school assignment. At just ten years of age Pippa Dowling penned a tale of loneliness, friendship, hope and courage; and it is wise beyond her years.

“I have a friend called Molly, she loves playing games. Molly sleeps under my bed, nobody can see her, only me. One day Molly wasn’t in my room, she wasn’t anywhere. That night I cried”.

This is a beautifully simple book that reassures kids that there is a friend out there perfect for them. A gentle story of friendship and having the courage to make new friends.

Bookworm1102’s Review

Just Like Molly is a book about a girl who has a friend called Molly. They do everything together, until one day, Molly is not there. The girl is upset, and she starts school, making a new friend called Zoe.

This book is a bright and colourful children’s book. The message is reassuring children that there is always someone out there who will want to be friends with them, even though they may not think so. It is a perfect book for parents and children to read together, and to look at the pictures together.

The book is written by Pippa Dowling, who is still currently at school, and for a debut picture book, it is very well written, and well illustrated by Sunshine.
