Elida

Elida May was born in Albania in 1972. Growing up in a Communist country, where access to books was severely restricted, helped to nurture her love of the written word, and she avidly read whatever genre she could get hold of, including a lot of European literature. Today Elida lives in London with her son Elidon. Following Evan is her first novel, and she is currently working on her second, Diary of Michael Vica.

Bookworm1102’s Review

I was given a copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review as part of Faye Rogers book tour.

Laura has been in a dark place for years after losing the people closest to her. With the help and encouragement of her best friend Carla, Laura starts getting out and meeting more people, even signing up on a dating website.

When a message from a mysterious man named David catches her attention, insisting that Laura visit him in the States, Laura is torn between staying in London and following her instinct and going to the States. What Laura decides changes her life forever.

Laura is such a relatable character. We have all experienced rough times in our lives and often, we just want to hide away and be by ourselves. I admire the way that Laura, with Carla’s help, dragged herself out of her downward spiral and slowly mingled with society again.

We all need a best friend like Carla, someone who refuses to give up on you and practically drags you outside at times when you feel like staying inside and doing nothing.

I really enjoyed this book. It was so well-written and I kept reading chapter after chapter, eager to find out what happened next.

Elida May is a talented author, and I would definitely read more books written by her.

I rate this book 5/5 stars!
